The proposal from Erica Developments involves the building of 12 dormer bungalows at the location, which is on Harehill Road in Chesterfield. The Trumpeter Inn stands on this site at the moment, but Chesterfield Borough Council has now given the go-ahead to the company to knock it down and enable work on the houses to get underway.
This is the second application that has been made to build on the site of the pub, which dates back to the early 1970s and is widely considered to be dated and unattractive in design. The Plans submitted five years ago were to turn it into a community centre but nothing came of that idea.
According to the Derbyshire Times, Lisa Blakemore and Jenny Flood from the council issued a statement that said:
“We are pleased that the area will be improved and, as has been said, it will help to reduce anti-social behaviour.”
New housing developments such as this often create work for local businesses, including Print shops that supply brochure printing services to enable the finished homes to be showcased to the public.
One condition that the developer must abide by is that work on the bungalows starts inside three years.Get a Free Quote for Plans Get a Free Quote for Print
