Local podiatry clinic may be moving

One of the main podiatry clinics in Chesterfield could move to a brand new location within the town, following the news that its owner has made an application for new premises.

Christopher Maggs is keen to move his clinic to Chesterfield’s Market Hall and the Borough Council has now received the application for planning permission. The application details his Plans to carry out a number of alterations to unit two, so that it will be suitable for use as a surgery, having previously been home to a shop.

His current surgery, which he uses to treat a variety of different ailments related to both the lower limbs and feet, is situated on Soresby Street. However there are reasons for the desired move that are outlined in the application.

It states that the downstairs location of the Market Hall unit makes it more suitable for the surgery, as many patients who visit the clinic are older. It goes on to add that:

“It is my understanding from local research that Market Hall previously had a chiropodist practice – Scholl – approximately 15 to 20 years ago. It would be good to rekindle this tradition.”
