Kemp played the character of Grant Mitchell for several years and, since leaving the show, he has gone on to win BAFTA awards for his documentaries and has written a number of Books. He will be coming to Chesterfield and cutting the ribbon for the grand opening of a branch of Go Outdoors, a superstore for clothing and equipment designed for outdoor use.
Kemp will be arriving at the site of the store for 9am so that he can see the first visitors in, as well as take part in a question and answer session and sign autographs for fans.
Furthermore, in addition to the chance to meet a television star, early visitors can also get a gift voucher to use within the store that is worth £20. It opens on 24th March and Kemp told the Derbyshire Times:
“I am honoured to be part of the exciting opening of the Chesterfield Go Outdoors store and I look forward to meeting the community. For me, encouraging the public to get outdoors is really important.”
