Games quarter coming to Chesterfield

Chesterfield is preparing to get a brand new section of town dedicated to gaming, with two start-up companies having confirmed that they will be moving into it later this year.

This games quarter will be located on Soresby Street, right in the heart of Chesterfield, and it represents a partnership between four games and leisure companies. Earlier in the year, Chesterfield Escape Rooms alongside Geeks Headquarters launched in this area of town - and their success with both tourists and people living in Chesterfield has encouraged two further businesses to link up with them.

Chesterfield Games Zone (GMZN), which will be a classic arcade offering console and PC titles, and the virtual reality game-based Chesterfield VR will be setting up shop there very soon. Together with the two existing games outlets, they will create a unique themed space.

Local shops that provide graphic design can help with the look of specialist entertainment venues like this before they open.

Chesterfield Escape Rooms owner Nick Hogan told Chesterfield.co.uk that:

“It’s a huge coup for the town to attract two new fledgling businesses to invest in the town centre and create something very unique, especially as all four owners live in the local area.”

His own venue has been such a hit that it is planning to expand, with the two new firms scheduled to move into the area during November.
