There is good news for cricket fans, with confirmation that the annual Chesterfield Festival of Cricket will be taking place in the town again next summer, and the line-up of games has already been announced.
The organisers of the Festival of Cricket are promising that 2023 will be its biggest and best ever. There will be a four-day face-off between Yorkshire and Derbyshire as they compete for the County Championship. Then, the five days of top-class cricket action will be rounded off with a match between the Vikings and the Falcons in the T20 Vitality Blast game.
Last year’s event proved to be a resounding success with cricket lovers, as usual. The County Championship was a battle between Middlesex and Derbyshire, with the latter emerging as winners by six wickets. The T20 game to round off the festival saw Yorkshire defeat the Falcons by 70 runs.
Upcoming sporting events like the Festival of Cricket are sometimes promoted in the local area through the use of flyer printing that has been ordered from shops in the town.
As in previous years, the venue for the 2023 event will be Queen’s Park, Chesterfield. It will mark the start of an exciting season of cricket, with Derbyshire hosting a number of big games throughout the season.
The Chesterfield Festival of Cricket will be held between 11th and 18th June.
