Derbyshire firms do well in regional business awards

The regional section of the British Chambers of Commerce recently hosted a ceremony in which various business community members from Derbyshire received recognition.

Mark Thurman, from the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield, received the award for

Young Business Person of the Year. Mitchells Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors, based within Chesterfield, won the prize for the Best Use of Technology to Improve Business Performance. Another organisation from the same town, Northern Lights, was credited for its international achievements.

It may well be that some of the enterprises which did well will use their awards on their marketing material. Some might utilise business card printing in Chesterfield (Brampton) to help draw attention to their achievements.

The outfits which performed so well at the regional level will have the chance to move forward together to the finals in London. These will be held in November. The finals have taken place for more than a decade. In this time, the national awards have celebrated the achievements of many local businesses. This process has emphasised the contribution, which local businesses make towards national economic growth.

George Cowcher, the chief executive of the regional chamber, has said:

“Congratulations to all of the winners from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, who will go on to represent the Chamber – and the region – at the BCC’s national awards in November.”

Mr. Cowcher has spoken warmly of the success of Chamber members in the awards process.
