Chesterfield to host plays and exhibitions

A number of plays and exhibitions are set to take place at venues throughout Chesterfield over the next 12 months, after funding for them was granted by Arts Council England.

This grant financing was awarded to Chesterfield Borough Council and it will be used for live shows and displays celebrating culture and history. There will be a mix of museum exhibitions containing interactive elements and theatrical performances as a result of the decision. The opening event will be an exhibition called Chesterfield Menagerie that is held at the Assembly Rooms.

It will be free to attend and will feature exhibits that centre on animals taken from the collection in Chesterfield Museum. Other exhibitions that are planned include a Romans one during October at Hasland Village Hall and ones dedicated to the Tudors and Victorians.

When it comes to theatrical shows, there will be a performance of Arms and the Man by George Bernard Shaw. This will be put on by Rumpus Theatre Company and hosted by the Winding Wheel. Other shows will include one set during the 1980s miners’ strike.

Giveaway Promotional Products from local shops that feature appropriately themed designs are just one of the many ways in which upcoming events like these can be advertised.

The first event is scheduled to be held next month and the programme will continue until August of 2025.
