There is good news for families in Chesterfield ahead of the summer, with the confirmation that the town will be playing host to a festival for children in the middle of the season.
The Chesterfield Children’s Festival has become a popular annual event on the summer calendar in the town. The financing for it comes from Arts Council England and it is put together by local organisation Junction Arts. One of the reasons why it is a big favourite among families in the town is that it can be attended at no cost.
That will apply again this year, and the venue for the festival will once more be Queen’s Park. One big difference with the 2024 event is that youngsters in the area will be asked to get involved in the planning of it.
Activities that will be taking place across the two-day festival include life drawing for families, something called an ‘aerial workshop’ geared towards babies, fashion catwalks and screenings of movies.
