Premier Inn will be opening a hotel with 89 rooms in the building, with a Beefeater dining facility also set to launch there during 2017. It is expected that this will lead to the creation of jobs for 60 people at the site in Elder Way.
The Plans to turn this building into a leisure centre and hotel, at a cost of £20 million, were given conditional approval by Chesterfield Borough Council last year.
These Plans will see the top floor of the building become a budget-priced hotel, the ground floor offer six restaurants for family dining, and the basement become a centre for fitness and health.
Premier Inn’s acquisitions manager, Nicholas Johnston, told the Derbyshire Times that the company was very pleased to play a major role in the development at Elder Way, adding:
“Chesterfield is an excellent location and, as well as attracting new visitors to the area, the new hotel will deliver fresh investment and create 60 new jobs for the local area.”
He concluded by stating that the hotel would be welcoming customers by 2017.
