Pupils from a secondary school in Chesterfield are celebrating after securing brilliant scores in their GCSE exams.
St Mary’s Catholic High School, which is located in Newbold Street, saw a remarkable eighty-nine percent of its students secure at least five grades between A* and C, including a rise of nine percent in the average Mathematics and English grades.
The school stated that these scores were attributable to the efforts put in by the pupils, as well as the dedication and support provided by its teaching staff.
A St Mary’s spokesperson told the Derbyshire Times that:
“Our aim is that every pupil fulfils his or her potential and has the qualifications to move on to the next stage of their education or career. We are extremely proud of all of our young people.”

One of the pupils celebrating his results was 16-year-old Bradley Keough, who scored three As, and he stated that the top grades in science subjects were the ones he particularly wanted.
He went on to say that he planned to study maths and science next year, with the aim of pursuing science at university level once he finishes school.
His mother Natasha added how proud she was of the results he had achieved.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
