Chesterfield panto to return with starry cast

The annual Christmas pantomime is set to take place in Chesterfield again this year, after Covid-19 forced its cancellation in 2020, and a star-studded cast will be taking part in the festive fun.

This year’s panto will tell the tale of Beauty and the Beast and is set to feature former singer and Coronation Street star Suzanne Shaw in the key role of Belle. She will be joined by Thomas Redgrave, who won Britain’s Got Talent with his group Collabro and who will play the part of Gaston. Another former contestant in the TV talent show, Andrew Fleming, has also joined the cast as comedic character Philippe Philoppe.

As usual, the venue for this year’s pantomime is set to be the Pomegranate Theatre in Chesterfield, and flyer printing is often one of the ways upcoming live shows like this are promoted in the local area.

The show will be produced by the theatre in collaboration with Paul Holman Associates, and Holman himself told Chesterfield News that it would be the biggest and best pantomime yet for the town, adding:

“As well as a fantastically talented cast, there will be breath-taking special effects, glittering scenery and costumes and plenty of traditional audience participation to keep the whole family entertained.”

Beauty and the Beast will be playing in Chesterfield starting on December 3 and running until January 2.
