Chesterfield gets new craft store

The worldwide chain of craft stores called Crafter’s Companion has opened a brand new outlet in Chesterfield, marking the second shop it has launched in the UK, with thousands of residents turning out for the first weekend of business.

It was not just those living in Chesterfield who chose to visit the store, with people from across the UK among the shoppers. The Chesterfield branch of Crafter’s Companion is located within Dobbies Garden Centre and Shopping Village, and Sara Davies, a television shopping celebrity and founder of the brand, carried out the grand opening.

It is hoped that the layout of this new shop will help to convince more people to give crafting a go, as well as serving as a hub for the local community where consumers are able to try out cutting edge products and tools.

With this in mind, a number of celebrities from the craft world – including Sheena Douglass and Debbie Shore – attended the Chesterfield opening to take part in demonstrations.

Speaking to Newton News Daily, Sara Davies MBE stated that:

“We’ve put so much hard work into making the store a success, so it’s been great to see people from the local community and beyond the region enjoying themselves and really getting involved with the activities.”

The store will be able to rely on local catalogue printers to help it showcase its products.
