Chesterfield FC hoping to create 3G pitch

Chesterfield Football Club is hoping to create a brand new 3G football pitch at a site within the town and has submitted an application to Chesterfield Borough Council seeking planning permission.

The club has also put in a funding application for this facility and has stated that it sees the pitch as something the entire community could benefit from. This council funding would cover part of the cost of it, while the rest would be raised through a combination of loans and grants. Chesterfield FC Community Trust would be in charge of the pitch and it would be used by small teams in the area among others.

The location that the club has chosen for the pitch is in Stand Road and a number of alterations have already been made to the designs based on advice from the Planning Department.

Brochure printing from Chesterfield shops with colour pictures of proposed developments like this can help to convince local people that they are a good idea.

Speaking to Chesterfield News, Terry Ward, who is directing the scheme, said:

“This is a facility which would greatly benefit the local community. If the project receives the go-ahead, it would help the Community Trust to make sport more accessible for all in the area.”

No word on when building work on the pitch might start has yet been made public.
