Chesterfield Childrens Festival to feature interactive artwork

The annual Children’s Festival is all set to return to Chesterfield next month, and this year’s event will feature a brand new interactive artwork aimed at the whole family.

This art installation is going by the name the Post Office of Possibilities and it is intended to be a mix of community engagement and street theatre. It is set to debut at the festival, which is one of the highlights of the summer for families in Chesterfield. The piece was commissioned for the festival by First Art and Junction Arts, and it has been created by the Babbling Vagabonds.

They are a troupe that specialise in al fresco theatre, and they have come up with a concept inspired by UK post offices. Families who take part in it will have the opportunity to write Postcards to themselves in the future. They will be encouraged to come up with messages full of hope and optimism, based around the idea of living a good life.

When it comes to advertising local events like festivals, promotional Pens created by Chesterfield Print shops can be a great choice.

Speaking to Chesterfield News, Phil Coggins of the troupe stated that:
“We want to reignite the joy of slow, tangible, human connection in an increasingly digital world.”

The venue for the festival is Queen’s Park and it will be held on 26 and 27 July.
