Care home employee in contention for top award

A woman who works at a care home in Chesterfield, and who has been praised for her dedication to her job, is in the running for a top industry award.

Barbie Riley is employed by the Chatsworth Lodge care home facility as an activities organiser, and she has made it onto the East Midlands regional shortlist for that category in the Great British Care Awards. These prestigious awards honour those working within the sector who have shown exceptional levels of excellence and enthusiasm when carrying out their work.

Riley began working at the home, which is located on Chatsworth Road in Chesterfield, one year ago. The award nomination came from Michelle Rose, who is the manager for the facility, and she told the Derbyshire Times that she felt it was deserved because of how happy Riley makes the residents, before going on to add that:

“Barbie works very hard to ensure the residents are having an amazing adventure in their daily lives and tailors the activities to suit everyone.”

Care homes sometimes look to printers that can create Letterheads for the official letters and other documents they send out.

The regional awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 29 next year, with the venue being the East Midlands Conference Centre. The winners in the various categories will be announced then.
