Former star athlete Kriss Akabusi MBE will be hosting this year’s UKATA Excellence Awards that see the Chesterfield Champion UKATA crowned. UKATA stands for UK Asbestos Training Association; the awards ceremony is all about honouring associates and training companies in that sector.
The training and standards authority was set up 15 years ago to promote safer practices within the industry. Therefore, this year’s ceremony will double as an anniversary celebration.
Speaking to Chesterfield News after his hosting of the event was confirmed, Akabusi stated that he was delighted to be involved in the ceremony, before adding:
“This momentous occasion is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of UKATA in advancing excellence and fostering growth within the construction industry.”
Business card printing by shops in Chesterfield can help companies that win industry awards at events like this one to showcase their accomplishment to potential customers afterwards.
Akabusi hosted this awards ceremony once before, so this year will mark a return to the town for him. Craig Evans from UKATA said that the organisation was happy to invite him back for a second time.
The ceremony takes place on 7th July.
