Funding boost for Camden childrens charity

A Camden-based charity has recently received a welcome boost in funding.

The Play, Adventure and Community Enrichment (PACE) charity has secured £64,000 in funding from the City Bridge Trust. This will enable disabled children to produce art in Camden’s Fairfield Playcentre. Visiting artists will put on a variety of workshops so that the children can paint, use textiles and experiment with ceramics. Poster printing can be useful in promoting workshops like this to the community.

Dhruv Patel, the Chair of the City of London Corporation’s City Bridge Trust, told Charity Today that:

“The Artist in Training programme is a fantastic way of allowing children with a range of complex needs to explore their creativity, make friends and learn new skills.”

Patel pointed out that the scheme delivers genuine benefits to Camden children. He explained that the families of the participants also gain from the sessions.

Henry Purkis, the Head Operating Officer at PACE, indicated that the children will not simply improve their artistic abilities in the workshops, as their self-confidence will also be boosted by taking part in creative activities that take them outside their ordinary boundaries.

The City Bridge Trust plays a significant role in improving life in London. As the capital’s largest independent provider of grants, it spends £25 million every year in its efforts to combat social disadvantages.
