Campaign launched to restore school building near Camden

A school near Camden has launched a new campaign to try to raise the money needed to renovate its assembly hall and restore it to optimum condition.

Acland Burghley School is situated in Tufnell Park, just outside Camden, and it is hoping to revitalise its assembly hall. This unusual hexagonal shaped structure was built in the distinctive Brutalist style of architecture. The school wishes to retain that look but convert the building into what it is describing as a ‘hall for all’ that both the pupils and the wider community can use.

It will need £1 million in funding to make that dream a reality, and is now campaigning to secure this cash. Speaking to the Camden New Journal, the governor of the school, Madeleine Holt, said that the area did not currently have a space for arts and performance use.

She then added that:
“The building was always conceived of as a space that would also be for the community, which is why it was set apart.”

Logo design provided by shops in Camden can help the organisers of local fundraising campaigns like this one to come up with memorable and eye-catching branding.

The school has secured money from the National Lottery, but is aiming to raise the remaining cash required through grants and community fundraising activities.
