Camden theatre to stage former digital play
A play that began life as a virtual performance that was staged online in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis will be put on by a theatre in Camden later this year.
‘Declan’ is a single character monologue that is the work of playwright Alistair Hall, who also performs the piece. It was originally staged as a digital play during the lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 and picked up a large and passionate fan following as a result. Now it will be getting its first live performance before an audience, with Camden People’s Theatre to serve as the venue for it.
It has undergone further development since its online performances and the director for this staging will be Billy Barrett, who was one of the founders of the Breach theatre company.
Graphic design services can help the producers of upcoming Camden stage shows such as this one to put together posters that are colourful and exciting as well as being thematically appropriate.
This particular play takes place in a suburban area of Wiltshire, but in fact happens almost entirely inside the head of protagonist Jimbo.
Speaking to Theatre Weekly, Barrett stated that:
It will be staged between 29th November and 3rd December.

“Alistair’s play has gripped and intrigued me ever since I encountered it as a short, sharp burst of nightmarish storytelling during lockdown.”
