Camden prepares to chill out to acoustic bluegrass
American singer-songwriter Billy Strings is on the road and is due to play a gig in Camden in mid-November.
This Michigan-born musician, who has since 2015 lived in Nashville, is widely recognised for his acoustic sound and expressive vocals. He initially played standard bluegrass accompanying his father and then discovered a new group of younger acoustic artists.
His latest solo album release, 'Renewal' came out on Rounder Records in 2021. In these 16 tracks, he provides a distinctive personal vision that exhibits diverse influences including bluegrass, classic rock and psychedelia.
The musicianship is of a high quality since the album features his regular band. Billy Failing on piano and banjo, bassist Royal Masat, and guitarist Jarrod Walker. Guests include violinist John Mailander and Grant Milliken on synth.
Billy picked up the Best Bluegrass Album at the 2021 Grammys and Song of Year at the 2022 IBMA Awards. He has also completed a series of sell-out concerts and headlined sets at Bonnaroo and Jazzfest. Amongst his latest collaborations are those with RMR, Luke Combs and Del McCoury.
Ticket prices begin at £35 and may be subject to a commission fee. Promotional products can be a useful way of publicising a future concert or musical event.
Billy Strings' gig has a starting time of 7.00pm on Wednesday 15th November at The Roundhouse, Camden.
