Camden initiative seeks community projects to fund
A grassroots initiative that is based within Camden is putting out a call to both community organisations and charities in the area that need financial support, as it has grants to give away.
We Make Camden Kit is an initiative designed to back groups and individuals who are working on projects – or have ideas for ones – that will make Camden better for local people. In its most recent round of funding, this initiative provided grant financing for six innovative schemes, but it is already on the lookout for more to lend a hand to.
It was set up during 2021 and is the result of a decision by Camden Council and Camden Giving to join forces. Landsec, which owns the O2 Centre venue found in Finchley Road, is helping to support it across one part of the borough.
Promotional pens with the names of initiatives like this one added to them and that are produced by local shops are one cost-effective way of getting the word out about them, as they can be handed out to members of the general public for free.
Projects that have been set up by groups and individual people are eligible for grants and new applications are actively being sought. Each month will see one new project that fits the criteria provided with a £2,000 grant to support the work.
