Annual gardening contest launched in Camden
An annual contest for residents of Camden with green fingers has been launched by the local council, with the aim of celebrating the most attractive outdoor spaces in the area.
Camden in Bloom is a hugely popular event that unites individuals, community groups and local businesses in trying to make the borough as appealing and environmentally friendly as possible. The 2022 competition has four different categories that people and organisations can enter: ‘Camden Young Gardener’, ‘Best Community Garden’, ‘Camden in Bloom Photo Competition’ and ‘Best Mini Garden’ – which refers to small green areas, window boxes or balconies.
While three of these categories will have their winners selected by a council judging panel, the photo contest will be available for anyone to enter using social media sites and will be decided via a public vote on Twitter.
One way for competitions like this to be advertised is through the use of print shops in Camden that can help the organisers produce promotional posters and leaflets that catch the eye.
Speaking to the website for the council, the Cabinet member for a Sustainable Camden, Adam Harrison, said:
The closing date for entries to this year’s contest is 31st August and the winners are set to be revealed in late September.
