This mixed-use complex is currently under construction on Station Road in Cambridge, and when it is finished, it will offer 80,000 sq ft of office space for businesses. Apple has joined a number of other prominent technology and e-commerce firms in announcing Plans to set up shop within the complex, with WeWork, Samsung, Microsoft and Amazon also opting to base their Cambridge operations there.
The CB1 development will be on seven storeys, each floor being fitted out with office spaces of the highest quality. Furthermore, the companies that move into it will find other amenities that are of use to them in the city, like outlets that provide business card printing.
CB1 will also have a car park in its basement, with room for 51 vehicles, 302 spaces for bicycle parking, and green and brown roofs that birds and bats can nest in. Its design is by the tp bennett architecture firm.
The Chief Executive of developer Brookgate, Sven Topel, told the Cambridge Independent that:
“The completion of 30 Station Road is an important moment in the delivery of the central business district for Cambridge.”
Work on it is due to conclude in September, with Apple likely to move in following that.
