Saskatoon Women's Network helps business grow

The Saskatoon Women's Network was first begun in 1980 when a group of women started networking in their homes. It soon moved on to meetings at the university before becoming a totally self-standing organization. Women from all businesses, including those in the printing services industry, can only benefit from such an organization.

The Saskatoon Women's Network (SWN) meets for lunch on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from noon to 1pm at the Travelodge. Lunch costs $20 for members and $22 for guests. They also meet for breakfast on the 4th Tuesday of every month from 7:30 to 8:30am at the Saskatoon Club. Breakfasts costs $13 for members and $15 for guests. These meeting consist of either a presentation by a member or a guest speaker or a networking training session.

The SWN costs $75 to become a member. Members receive a resource book that features all the members, access to a member-only website, newsletters, a name tag, the opportunity to advertise or write articles for the newsletter, the chance to vote on the organization's directors and to serve as a director of the organization.

The Saskatoon Women's Network state that their mission is to provide:

"opportunities for its members to develop professional and personal goals through networking."

This mission is a very important one. More and more women are becoming business owners and they need a voice to speak for them. Many of the networking groups are mainly made up of men who don't always understand the special circumstances that many women in business face. The SWN understands.
