From the sound barrier-breaking Avro Arrow to the Douglas DC3, Canada is very proud of its aviation history, and a Saskatoon museum has set the date for a series of deep dive experiences with some of these aircraft.
The Saskatchewan Aviation Museum will be welcoming the return of its Open Cockpit Days Experience, and the schedule opens in January. There are dates set until March of 2026, and each will include something for almost every age and interest.
The visitors will be able to view a variety of vintage aircraft up close, and many of the planes will be restored and flight ready. There will be static displays to view, as well as opportunities to climb into the pilot’s seat, and attendees can put their skills to the test in one of the onsite computer flight simulators. The restoration hangar will be open to visitors too. A different aircraft will be featured each month, with a Bell 206B Helicopter also in the mix.
Museums and other institutions give the public a sneak peek into the past. Signage and other custom Print work for a venue can be performed by a local printing services company.
The first instalment of the Open Cockpit Days Experience for 2026 will be on offer on January 24th. The plane featured will be a restored 1942 DeHavilland Tiger Moth. All ages are welcome.
