Anglers who would like to add a “secret weapon” to their tackle box may want to register for an upcoming workshop, and they will walk away with a lure they have made by hand.
The Carve a Fishing Lure workshop, which will be held this December, may help Saskatoon fishers have “tight lines” when they next hit their favourite fishing spot. The session will see each attendee create their own lure using basswood and other materials during the 10-hour class, which will be split across two days.
The workshop will open on Friday evening and continue on the next day. Everyone will have the chance to gain experience using a variety of equipment as they craft their lure. Everyone will be walked through the process of carving, sanding, assembling, painting and sealing their project so it will be ready for the water, and the use of rotary tools will be included. The lures will be rigged with stainless steel wire, and all levels of experience will be welcome.
Registering for a workshop gives those who enjoy a particular hobby an opportunity to learn even more, and they also provide a chance to meet others who share the interest. Stationery printers can supply handouts and other materials.
