Spring has sprung in Saskatoon, and that means the birds have made their way back. An upcoming activity will give them a warm welcome.
A birding tour has been planned for local families. It can be a fun way for those who are new to the hobby to get their feet wet, and experienced birders may also enjoy the outing.
The session will introduce a variety of species that call the prairies home, and it will be a driving tour. It will be held by an expert in avian spotting, and disabled birders are welcome.
The participants will meet up at 2600, and the vehicles will travel, convoy style, to rural areas noted for being good places to spot a bird. The registration fee starts at $75.00 each, and the activity can accommodate up to six vehicles. Tax receipts will be issued for 50 percent of the ticket price, and loaner binoculars may be available. Meals are not included.
Birding is a hobby that can be enjoyed by almost every age and ability level, offering a chance to experience nature up close. Basic field guides, promotional Pens, Notebooks and other materials can be ordered for an activity from area Print shops.
The Mother's Day Signs of Spring Birding Tour will welcome the return of its feathered friends on May 11th. The proceeds will be donated to Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation.
