Saskatoon tour to search for snowy owls

Saskatoon birders who have always wanted to view snowy owls in the wild may be able to do so along with others who also enjoy the hobby.

A guided birding tour that will find and photograph “snowies” is on the agenda, and it will be led by an experienced facilitator. It will be a half-day activity, and it may be especially suited to those who would like to brush up on their avian photography skills.

The session, which may be enjoyed by both newbies and experience birders, will be open to the public. The cost per vehicle with up to four passengers is $290.00. The route will travel through rural areas where these owls are often spotted, and a pair of loaned binoculars may be available. The attendees will receive tips for getting some great shots, and other species may be seen along with the owls.

The facilitator will be a volunteer, and tax receipts will be issued. The monies raised will be used to support the work of Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation. Printed guides, safety waivers and other custom-printed materials for such a function will be available at a printing services company.

This special event planned with birders in mind will be on offer on December 8th and January 8th. More details about how to register, the route to follow and the venues visited can be found on Living Sky’s Wildlife Rehabilitation’s website.
