A daylong course is being offered in Saskatoon for registered nurses who have completed their CEDN Introduction to 12 Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation training.
A variety of topics will be covered during the workshop. These include recognizing the changes in an ECG for myocardial injury, infarction and ischemia, abnormal and normal axis deviations on an ECG with 12 leads, how to identify the effects of drugs and electrolytes, and how to properly place the 12 ECG leads. Recognizing ventricular and supraventricular tachyarrhythmia, right and left ventricular hypertrophy, and how to differentiate between left and right bundle branch block will also be addressed during the day. Comb binding can be used to create manuals and other handouts of materials for use during a seminar such as this.
The course is being made available through the College of Nursing, University of Saskatchewan’s Continuing Education and Development for Nurses. The organization works to make sure that all nurses in the province are up to date with the latest developments and training in their field.
The 12 Lead ECG Refresher will be held in Saskatoon in G698 Royal University Hospital, located at 103 Hospital Drive. It will take place on November 18th from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm, and the cost to attend is $175 each.
More information and an opportunity to register can be found on the workshop’s Eventbrite listing.
