Theatre Woodstock will be putting on stage a unique take on a classic fairy tale this December with “A Snow White Christmas”.
The play is an adaptation of prolific Canadian playwright Norm Foster’s version of the Snow White legend. Described as a “fractured fairy tale”, the story takes place decades after Prince Charming and Snow White married, and it investigates what “happily ever after” really means. The Theatre Woodstock production will be directed by Jeff Sweete and produced by Kim DiLello, with a cast full of local talent. The play will run across 11 days, including two Sunday afternoon matinee shows. The play is one of four adaptations of Foster’s work being staged across Oxford County this fall and winter.
The play will feature a full set with props and music, with Woodstock community members contributing to the production process through a “group build”. Community theatrical productions like this often draw on contributions by local businesses and individuals, such as advertising by Print shops and props supplied from local vintage stores. Theatre Woodstock will hope to build on the holiday show’s momentum and attract attention to its 2025 productions of musicals We Will Rock You and Cabaret.
Theatre Woodstock’s production of A Snow White Christmas will be staged at the Theatre Woodstock building from December 5 to 15.
