The tournament will feature a shotgun start with players able to register as a foursome with friends or family. All foursomes will be entered into a draw to read a VIP package for a Toronto Maple Leafs game, including a pre-game tour at the Hockey Hall of Fame and a social hosted by Gilbert Dionne. Players can also purchase a VIP package including carts, on-course snacks and a chance to play with NHL alumni.
The tournament is the summer event for Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) in the Waterloo region. HHTH is celebrating its 30th anniversary and regularly holds hockey, golf and other athletic events across Canada. Charity events like this often use methods like brochure printing and on-stage presentations to better explain their purpose.
Events are organized by local groups with money contributing to the national fund, which has raised over $8 million in the 2025-26 season. Money goes towards organizations benefiting the homeless throughout Canada. The organization says that:
“At Hockey Helps the Homeless we invest in solutions that ensure fewer individuals and families end up on the streets. We do so in partnership with organizations that are committed to ending homelessness through many different services.”
The 2026 HHTH Waterloo Region Golf Tournament will take place on September 12 at the Craigowan Golf Club in Woodstock.
