Woodstock business to welcome mindful makers

Woodstock’s The Thoughtful Artisan will be hosting its second annual Mindful Makers Retreat this August, aiming to provide outdoor inspiration for craftspeople.

The event is aimed at knitting and crochet fans looking to get away from it all. The weekend will include food, accommodation, and access to amenities at Lungovita Beach Retreat. The rural setting is aimed at providing peace and promoting creativity, with mindfulness-inspired events and moments planned. Marketing material states that:

“Whether you’re looking to unwind, learn, or connect with fellow makers, this retreat offers the perfect balance of relaxation and creative energy.”

Robin Joliffe of Alberta’s Rose Hill Yarns will lead a yarn dyeing workshop for participants. Joliffe will also be taking place at a Trunk Show at the Thoughtful Artisan’s Woodstock store on August 20. Customers will be able to look at and purchase hand-dyed crafts before the weekend, as well as buy tools and materials to prepare.

Other retreat activities include a Game Night and Knit Night. All participants will also receive a Goodie Bag to take home. Retreats and creative events like this one often create their own Promotional Products and souvenirs to help commemorate the occasion and build anticipation for the next edition.

The 2026 Mindful Makers Retreat will take place on the Lungovita Beach Retreat grounds in Harrow, Ontario from August 21 to 23.
