Woodstock police look to slash spending

Stationery printers in Woodstock, Ontario and the surrounding area might be in an excellent position to help with the problems a police chief is encountering in slashing the budget for his Toronto police force. Despite the fact that seeking more cost efficient ways of printing for the department would provide for a quick and immediate way of meeting budget-slashing obligations, chief Bill Blair is having a hard time of it.

Toronto’s Police Services Board instructed the police chief to get ready to find ways to cut $40 million from his almost $1 billion budget by this week, yet the chief’s response was perplexing. Instead of finding ways to cut the $40 million from his budget, such as by reducing unnecessary printing costs at his department, the chief is actually proposing a 6 percent increase in his department’s budget. Blair’s reasoning is said to be untrue: He claims that finding the $40 million budget cut would result in the laying off of about 1200 policemen.

Toronto’s new mayor is Rob Ford, a politician who says he is committed to cutting the budget and saving people money. The mayor is not pleased with the police chief, and the two of them will hold a meeting this week to discuss the chief’s problem with budget cuts. The suggestion to cut $40 million from the police budget was actually an expectation instead of a recommendation.

The police force will always be in need of Stationery and flyer printing in Woodstock, and are well placed to support local businesses whilst meeting their budgetary targets.
