Woodstock org to hold February fundraisers

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County organization will be holding a series of fundraising events this February in Woodstock and surrounding areas, aiming to provide a fun time while building its resources for 2024.

Most of the events will both be under the Play for Kids’ Sake banner, which includes bowling at Ingersoll Lanes and C&D Lanes in Woodstock, and simulated indoor golf at Tillsonburg’s Birds Golf Sports Lounge. There will be multiple time slots for each event, and participants are encouraged to sign up in teams of four for golf and up to six for bowling, with each participant raising at least $75 for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Higher donors will receive their choice of gift cards for local businesses.

This year’s fundraisers will also include the new Curl for Kids Charity Bonspiel, a charity tournament featuring sixteen teams. Each team is guaranteed two draws, with lunch and dinner provided on the day of the tournament. The bonspiel is hosted at the Woodstock Curling Centre and has previously been hosted to benefit other charitable causes. Charity events such as this often use tools such as speeches and brochure printing to help promote the cause and remind people what they’re raising money for.

The Play for Kids’ Sake and Curl for Kids events will take place at various locations around the Woodstock area from February 2 to 24.
