The Woodstock-Oxford Rotary Club will be bringing back a dinner that has become an annual staple in the community this April with the 43rd annual Fish Fry.
The traditional Fish Fry involves a fresh perch meal but is also a chance to dance, socialize, and contribute to charity. Local rock act Highway 24, a favourite from past events, will return to play throughout the night. Attendees can purchase tickets for a draw, with the top prize being a trip for two to Cuba. There will also be charitable auctions held throughout the night, with prizes contributed from the TireCraft mechanics change, including a new set of tires and a $1000 gift certificate.
All proceeds raised through the ticket sales and auction will go towards the Rotary Club’s annual charitable activities in the Woodstock-Oxford community. These activities include tree-planting, serving meals to those in need, supporting young students, and other community initiatives. The organization has also recently been involved in the Woodstock Tiny Homes Community Initiative. Fundraisers like this can be a major part of non-profit organizations’ budget, and are often promoted through methods like flyer printing, social media, and signage.
The 2024 Woodstock-Oxford Rotary Fish Fry will take place on the evening of April 20 at the Oxford Auditorium in Woodstock. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
