The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf tournament will be returning this summer for its 51st edition.
The tournament will use a four-person scramble format to allow for greater social distancing and quicker play. This ruleset sees golfers registering in teams of four, with the best shot for each stroke being counted as the official marker. The tournament will have staggered tee times beginning early in the morning. The course will also provide refreshments through an appetizer served on the course and a lunch once teams are halfway through the course. The quartet with the lowest combined score at the end of the day will be the winners.
The tournament is hosted by the chamber to encourage connections and create opportunities for networking between businesspeople and professionals in Woodstock and the Oxford County region. Golf is well-known as a popular opportunity for networking, with Business Cards changing hands as much as scorecards.
This year’s event will feature a more direct way to support small businesses, with each participant receiving a $50 gift card for a local restaurant. The chamber holds a number of other networking events, including the Business Awards of Excellence, the food-based Forks and Corks, biannual travel tips and the monthly Business After Five dinners.
The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce golf tournament is set to take place on July 7 at Craigowan Golf Club.
