The wieners are returning to Oxford County

The Wienerfest Home County Festival is taking place next month in nearby Embro. Proceeds will be donated to Tiny Paws Dog Rescue Canada.

Over 1,000 dachshunds and their owners will be flocking to Oxford County to show off their skills. In addition, there will be over 100 vendors selling arts and crafts, accessories, food and drink. Exhibitors from various organizations are also expected to be on hand. Professional veterinarians and trainers will be on hand to answer any questions owners may have.

The day will start off with a contest that will include prizes for the smallest, the biggest, the dachshund with the most unique coloring and several other categories. There will be a yogurt licking contest, a costume contest and games. Several smaller races will accompany the main one, such as the honorary doxie race and the puppy race.

The dogs will also have a chance to show off their agility and participate in a lure course. Additionally, Ambassador Cynder the Chaotic Dachshund will be making an appearance.

No doubt families from all over the Woodstock area will want to attend the festival. To help them spread the word, organizers may invest in flyer printing services.

The Wienerfest Home County Festival will be held at the Embro Community Centre on June 23 from 9:30 to 4:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. Call 519-421-8131 for the most current information.
