Handbags for Hospice set to return for its 8th year

VON Sakura House is a hospice that provides care and support for those with a terminal illness, as well as their families, and it is hosting an event in Woodstock to help fund the different programs and activities it offers.

The Handbags for Hospice fundraiser will be back for its eighth year, and it is being brought to the community, in part through the assistance of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and many other community sponsors. More than 600 Lug Bags and handbags will be up for auction, and the organizers have planned for it to be an event that will be fun for everyone who participates, even if they don’t make the winning bid.

Along with the purses and Bags, there will be other items offered as well. The money raised will be used by the VON Sakura House residential hospice to help make sure that, “every day is a gift” for those who are facing the end of life.

The planners of the auction noted that, over the past seven years, the event has been able to raise $722,671, and they are hoping this year will be a big success. A printer will be able to use digital printing technology to craft a variety of Banners, signage, Invitations and many other items for use during this type of event.

Handbags for Hospice will be held in Woodstock’s Oxford Auditorium on January 19th. Anyone who would like to participate can find more information on the hospice’s website.
