Recent real estate numbers in Woodstock have been very positive for both buys and sellers, according to the latest figures.
In spite of a slow start at the beginning of the year, the Woodstock-Ingersol District Real Estate Board reveals that the statistics for May were very promising, with 138 units were sold in that month.
This represents a gain of 11% over the same month last year. The numbers of new listings were also up by 1% over the same time period.
This shows a change in direction from the downward trend, which was first reported in late 2008.
The MLS site currently has 524 active listings, which is down 7% from last year. This is important, as is shows that sales have been brisk.
The president of the board noted that there have been more sales than supply, and this increase in demand has helped to make the market tighter.
Another piece of good news is that the average selling price for a home in the area has reached an all-time high of $259,975, which is a 2.6% increase from 2013.
These positive stats may mean more business for Print companies, who may find themselves being asked to produce more and more ‘for sale’ Signs.
The numbers show a rise since January of this year. Part of the reason for this may be that many people waited for the spring when the weather is better to either sell or buy a home. Get a Free Quote for Signs Get a Free Quote for Print
