Country Christmas breezes into Oxford County

The holidays are almost here and excitement is growing for some. No matter what their beliefs, most people in Canada look forward to the holidays. It is a time to spend with friends and family and to enjoy the good things in life. The Tillsonburg Country Christmas Festival, which takes place this weekend, brings memories of an old fashioned celebration. The festival will no doubt draw visitors from all over Oxford County, including nearby Woodstock. Organizers will are sure to be working with local printing companies to advertise this popular annual event.

One of the most important events happening during the weekend will be the lighting of the Christmas tree. It will be performed by the deputy mayor and will take place tomorrow, November 23, at 7:00 pm in Fountain Square. The tree lighting will be followed by the Annandale high school Stuffed Stocking Penny Sale from 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm, where more than 25 stockings will be for sale for $2.50 each or $5.00 for three. Taking place at the same time will be the opening of an exhibit in the Changing Gallery, entitled ‘A Victorian Christmas’.

There will be several other events held during the weekend including 28th Down Home Country Christmas Craft Show that will take place on November 24 from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm. It will feature over 140 artists and crafters, so visitors can find a unique and handmade gift for a friend or family member.
