Waterloo workshop to help make holidays happier for all

An upcoming Waterloo event is offering tips that can make a difference to those who associate the holiday season with grief.

The workshop, which is intended for members of the community who find this time of the year to be especially challenging, has been organized by Bereaved Families of Ontario’s Midwestern Region branch. There is no cost to participate, but anyone who would like to make a donation to help cover the cost of offering the program is encouraged to do so.

The session will offer tips and practical, actionable advice that can help someone who is grieving navigate the season without taking on more than they can handle. Each person in the group will be invited to share their own coping strategies, and the workshop will last for about one hour.

Attending an event like this can be really helpful to someone who finds the season to be a hard time for them. Cards that have been printed with self-care tips can help them to remain grounded during the holidays, and a printing services company will be able to produce them in an assortment of styles.

The Waterloo session of “Anything but Merry” is accepting registration for Monday, December 9 at 500 Fischer-Hallman Rd. The organizer’s website offers plenty of additional details about the event.
