When the sun sets early, the city of Waterloo will host a festival featuring thousands of lights.
The Wonders of Winter event will include a range of colourful displays across a park in the city, illuminating the night. The opening ceremony will begin ten minutes after sunset. After the officials turn on the lights, people can tour the park to see trees, animals, storefronts, and holiday-themed decorations. Two other events will take place during the festival: story night and log house tour.
The Waterloo Public Library will host a story night and craft workshop in the old log house on December 19 as part of the festival. After story hour, participants can build holiday-themed decorations, play with toys from other eras, and see how families used to decorate their homes during the festive season.
Citizens nostalgic for a bygone era may want to visit the decorated Christmas log cabin to learn about its past and connection to the city of Waterloo. Once a school and a home to the Carroll family, the Waterloo museum will feature a range of items designed to allow residents to admire the city’s history.
Local printing services often contribute to community festivals like this by producing Posters that share event schedules, maps, and information across public spaces.
