Tri-Cities group to present ghostly musical

The Community on Stage troupe will be staging their production of Ghost: the Musical in the Waterloo area this October, just in time for Halloween.

The stage musical is an adaptation of the well-remembered 1990 romantic thriller movie of the same name, telling the story of a woman who pursues her lost love through a spiritual medium. The musical version debuted in London’s West End in 2011 and made its way to Broadway the following year. The Waterloo staging will include stage effects like fog and flashing lights in addition to song and dance.

The Community On Stage production of Ghost will be directed by Andrew Scott with musical direction by Sebastien Williams and choreography by Holly Perkins. The cast was selected through local community auditions and includes Nathaniel Whitfield as Sam, Celine Medeiros as Molly and Marisha Alexander as Oda Mae Brown.

The musical will run across two weekends in October with a total of eight performances, including three afternoon matinee shows. Local theatrical productions like this often license recognizable plays, musicals or film adaptations and use poster printing and social media to help attract fans from nearby areas like Waterloo and Kitchener.

The Community on Stage rendition of Ghost: the Musical will be performed from October 17 to 25 on weekend evenings and afternoons at the Cambridge Arts Theatre.
