Waterloo community gathers for picnic

The Waterloo region prides itself on building a strong sense of community, something which is highlighted at this upcoming event.

Home to an animal farm, lake, splash pad, playgrounds and picnic areas, it is easy to see why Waterloo Park is known as the jewel of the city to many, which makes it the perfect location for the upcoming Community Picnic.

This Canada Day the Waterloo Region community is invited to celebrate together with a picnic. Picnic attendees bring their own picnic dinner or choose to purchase it from one of the several local food trucks on-site. There will also be a variety of activities for individuals and families to play, including giant games. The picnic will also be featuring 20 local artists who will have a range of pieces available for purchase. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Waterloo community and the different organizations that are run within it at the Community Organization Fair. The picnic will also showcase a variety of local performers on the main stage.

Event organizers for community fairs often have two focuses: entertainment and education. With the education portion sometimes occurring after the event, which is why tools like flyer printing are sometimes used to make it easier for attendees to find resources.

The Waterloo Community Picnic will take place on July 1, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the west side of Waterloo Park, which can be found at 50 Young St W, Waterloo. Additional information about the Canada Day picnic can be found on the City of Waterloo website.
