Waterloo area class to offer scoop on soap making

Soap is a commonplace item in most homes, but many may not be aware that they can make it themselves. Purely Patricia is offering a soap-making workshop for the Waterloo area, and Patricia herself will provide the instruction for the event.

Learners in the three-hour class will be taught the basics of making soap at home following the cold process method. They will each go home with about 10 bars they will have made themselves, as well as the materials they need to make more on their own in the future.

While the group works on the project, they will have an opportunity to learn about how the process of soap-making first started and how it has changed over time. They will also find out how to handle lye and other ingredients safely, and a discussion of different recipes will be included in the workshop.

To help them customize their soaps, the students will be welcome to choose from a variety of essential oils and other botanically sourced ingredients. Each of the attendees will be required to sign a waiver before they can participate, and business Forms like these can be obtained from local Stationery printers.

This opportunity to get the scoop on soap-making will be offered on November 2. It will be held at 3677 Nafziger Road in Wellesley.
