The festival will feature a marketplace full of comics, ranging from long-form graphic novels to experimental zines, with physical Copies available to buy. This year’s edition will feature special guest Liesl Adams, a noted animation director and storyboarder who recently published her debut graphic novel, Batter Royale.
OCAF will also feature other special guests and programming aimed at highlighting the Ontario and Quebec comic communities, and helping artists to develop their skills and broaden their reaches. This programming will include panel discussions and participatory workshops focused on illustration and writing.
Arts festivals like this allow for comics creators to connect with both customers and potential collaborators and partners, with colourful handout and business card printing often a key part of preparation. Advertising explains OCAF’s ambitions:
