The plans for a second home in the region follow the completion of the chapter’s first project, a home built by volunteers on donated land provided by the Region of Peel, located at Earl near Britannia Road in Erin Mills.
The latest project is being sponsored by home-builder The Daniels Corporation, which constructed the shell of the home, but will turn over to Habitat for Humanity volunteers once completed. A small army of unpaid workers will finish the interior of the townhouse.
A project like this is a multi-faceted source of potential revenue for Print companies. Banner printing can be used for the exterior of the house to advertise the sponsors. Flyer printing can also be utilised to promote the cause of Habitat for Humanity.
The property will be located in a community being developed by Daniels called FirstHome Destination Drive. Talking about the project, Doug Clark, Habitat for Humanity's president in Mississauga, said:
“Whereas it’s always great to build from the ground up, we have to take advantage of opportunities like this. We have been in discussion about partnering with the Daniels Group for more than three years now, so we are very happy that we will be able to provide our second approved family with their own home in 2011.”
The three-bedroom home should be available for a new family in the fall.
