Mississauga offers firefighter training opportunities

Both professional and volunteer firefighters alike help keep their communities safe, and these everyday heroes will be able to hone their skills during a Mississauga training opportunity.

The Fire and Emergency Services Training Institute in Mississauga has scheduled a free training day. It will be a full day of learning, and the syllabus covers a wide assortment of topics.

The attendees will be offered hands-on learning in areas such as aircraft rescue and extraction, and forcible entry into a building will also be covered. Live Fire Rescue will aid in skill development, and Patient Packaging and Triage will round out the day. Everyone can choose which specialized training module they wish to participate in, and before they register, the attendees will need to obtain their Chief’s approval.

Attending training opportunities can help those in a particular field keep their skills sharp and their knowledge current. Learning materials, including bound texts, for training days like this can be prepared by a company offering printing services.

This year’s Canadian Firefighter Training Day will take place on September 19th, with the doors set to open at 7:30 am. The event will run from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. The venue is located at 2025 Courtneypark Drive East in Mississauga, and free parking is available on site. A waitlist has been created in case all the spots fill up.
