New Longos opens in Mississauga
Residents of the Mississauga neighborhood of Applewood now have a new place to do their grocery shopping.
Longo’s, which is a store that features artisan and organic foods, opened its newest 35,000 square foot location in Applewood Plaza. It is the fourth location to launch in Mississauga and the 28th in the Greater Toronto Area.
Besides the food and other grocery items, it is also home to a Starbucks and a community room where cooking classes will be made available to the public.
The store will provide employment for 170 people and dozens of new customers waited in line for the grand opening celebration. The city’s mayor and Ward One Councilor, as well as members of the Longo family, were on hand to take part in the festivities. A poster printing company can create signage and other decorative items that can add to the celebratory air of this type of event.
The store will feature organic and gourmet items, including freshly made stone hearth baked pizza and over 300 domestic and imported cheeses, 50 different artisan style breads, a full service deli, fresh seafood and meat. There will also be different verities of fruits and vegetables and even freshly made sushi available, along with the usual items that locals will have come to expect to find in a well-stocked grocery store.
