Mississauga is set to host an event for local gardeners and green thumbs next week where tips, advice and information about the upcoming gardening season will be shared.
Seedy Saturday has been held for the past 15 years, and it has proven to be a popular event. Those with seeds to share are welcome to bring them along, and in turn, they will be able to choose some to take away from the seed swapping table.
Since the day will be all about gardening, the organizers are offering several workshops that can help people to get the most from their plot, whether it’s a garden patch or a pot on their balcony. Master Gardeners will be in attendance to answer questions and share tips and tricks. Furthermore, the Cozy Cafe will be open for business to provide refreshments.
Any youngsters that attend will find that special activities aimed specifically for them. A hands-on kids workshop has been planned, and EcoSource will host a children's activity centre. Stationery printers can lend a hand with an event like this by preparing colouring sheets, activity Books and other items which can be given to any kids who participate.
This year’s Seedy Saturday has been scheduled for April 6th, and admission is free. It will be held at 84 South Service Road in Mississauga.
